The Georgian foreign office on Tuesday said the 33 Georgian nationals who were stranded in Sudan due to ongoing clashes between a regular army and a powerful paramilitary group, had been transferred to a “neutral and a safe zone” at the Sudan-Egypt border.
The body said the employees of two Georgian-based airlines would be transferred to Georgia from Egypt in the coming days.
The individuals include the personnel of Myway and Geosky airlines, who had been stranded in the Sudanese capital since April 15.
The conflict has killed more than 400 and left thousands injured.
