Georgian diplomats working in Ukraine have only been advised to withdraw their families from Kyiv amid fears that Russia may invade the country, the Georgian Foreign Ministry says.
The ministry says that it is only a recommendation and is dependent on the will of diplomats, stating that the Georgian embassy in Ukraine continues work in an ordinary manner and the head of mission and staffers remain on the ground.
Russia recognized Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions as independent states yesterday, the move which Georgia and the international community have condemned.
