Georgian gov’t pledges to send generators to Ukraine

The head of the Government administration of Georgia, Revaz Javelidze, on Friday said that the Georgian authorities would purchase generators to send them to Ukraine, in response to the claims of Andriy Kasianov, the charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, that their request a month ago had not been responded so far.

Calling the turmoil “unfounded”, Javelidze said Georgia had ensured “maximum” support for Ukraine since the outbreak of hostilities in late February. and that 26,000 Ukrainian citizens in Georgia fleeing the war had been ensured with “all necessary services” and monthly financial aid.

He said the Georgian Government had spent ₾32 million for the Ukrainian nationals as of December 1, with the country maintaining the first position among 190 countries for ensuring humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
