Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Friday announced a legislative proposal to impose a ban on LGBT marches and the display of related colorful items. The proposal will be forwarded to the Human Rights Committee for further review. This move comes amidst ongoing debates over LGBTQ+ rights in Georgia.
In addition to this controversial measure, Papuashvili outlined several other legislative proposals, including amendments to the Law on Revenue Service, a draft law on diaspora organizations, and an application regarding the termination of lobbyist Zaal Sarajishvili’s legal status.
