The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, together with the members of the Georgian parliamentary delegation, met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kornienko on Thursday, on the sidelines of the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Rwanda.
Papuashvili confirmed Georgia’s “steadfast support” for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and noted that the current war “is a big challenge for European security”.
The Chairman of the Parliament reviewed the support provided by Georgia to Ukraine.
The parties discussed the European integration process of the two countries. Papuashvili also spoke about the progress of Georgia in the direction of fulfilling the 12 -pint conditions of the European Union for Georgia’s membership candidate status.
The Chairman of the Parliament wished success to the Ukrainian people in the struggle for the independence of their country.
