Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze assured the public today that Georgia’s EU integration process has not been delayed, but rather will continue with maximum intensity. Speaking at a press conference at the Government Administration, Kobakhidze emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing the country’s European aspirations.
“I want to assure everyone that the EU integration process has not been postponed. On the contrary, it will continue with maximum intensity. This is the reality. Everything else is misinformation deliberately spread by the radical opposition and their affiliated media,” Kobakhidze stated.
He also criticized the EU Ambassador to Georgia for allegedly participating in a “disinformation campaign” regarding the country’s EU integration progress.
Kobakhidze noted that during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier today, Georgian diplomats received clear instructions to intensify efforts in advancing Georgia’s EU integration agenda.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked to ensure that all diplomatic efforts are maximized to continue our country’s EU integration process,” the Prime Minister added.
Kobakhidze’s remarks come amid public protests and criticism over the government’s recent decision to suspend formal EU accession negotiations until 2028, a move that has sparked widespread discontent and opposition within Georgia.
