The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, on Tuesday held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Zhou Qian at his office, discussing “close relationship” between the states, elevated to the level of strategic partnership last year, the Government press office said.
The discussions centered on the future prospects of cooperation between the two nations.
Both sides lauded the meeting between Garibashvili and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, during the former’s visit to Beijing last year.
The Ambassador briefed the Prime Minister on recent, so-called elections in Taiwan. In response, Garibashvili reiterated the Georgian Government’s unwavering support for the One-China Principle. Both parties reconfirmed their commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other’s countries, the press office added.
