The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, is attending the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, hosted by UN Secretary General António Guterres and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. According to the Georgian government administration, the Prime Minister participated in the opening session of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit, as well as the high-level meeting of heads of states and governments.
“Within the framework of the conference, Irakli Kobakhidze is scheduled to deliver a speech at the COP29 leaders’ summit, as well as participate in panel discussions held in a roundtable format on various key topics,” the government said in a statement.
The leaders at the summit traditionally gathered for a joint photo, symbolizing their commitment to global climate action.
The PM’s delegation includes First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili, and Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
