Georgian PM optimistic about strengthening ties with EU and US

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed confidence in the future of the country’s relationships with the European Union and the United States, emphasizing that EU integration remains Georgia’s top foreign policy priority.

Speaking to reporters, Kobakhidze highlighted that the successful completion of elections in both Georgia and the U.S. paves the way for enhanced cooperation between Georgia, the EU, and the US. He reassured the public that despite some past challenges, the country’s relations with the EU are proceeding according to plan.

“The conclusion of key events, including the resolution of the war in Ukraine, will further shift our relationships with the EU and the US in a positive direction,” the PM said, adding that Georgia is on track to meet over 90% of its EU obligations in the coming years. He also dismissed concerns about the risk to Georgia’s visa-free status with the EU, calling it “completely unfounded.”

Kobakhidze reaffirmed that Georgia remains committed to its European and transatlantic aspirations.
