Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has criticized the Ukrainian government, stating that it has “crossed all limits of seriousness” in its recent actions. Speaking to journalists in Uzbekistan, Kobakhidze accused Ukrainian officials of directly pressuring Georgia to open a “second front” amid the ongoing war.
“Ukraine’s government was openly demanding a second front from Georgia. This request came from top officials, including the Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security Council and the President’s chief advisor,” Kobakhidze stated.
He also dismissed Ukraine’s recent decision to revoke Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze’s honorary title of “International Master of Sport of Ukraine,” calling it an unserious move that did not even deserve a response.
“How can anyone take this seriously? This decision is beyond unserious. But unseriousness is not the main issue here. Let me remind you once again—Ukraine’s leadership officially recalled its ambassador from Georgia for two reasons: first, because Georgia did not send volunteer fighters with government approval, and second, because we did not join the sanctions. Against this backdrop, this latest move does not even warrant a comment,” the Prime Minister added.
