Sopho Japaridze, a member of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party, stated on Monday that every Georgian citizen will soon have an EU passport following the defeat of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, which she predicts will occur in the upcoming October 26 elections.
Japaridze said Georgia is on the verge of becoming a member of the European Union, a process that will accelerate once the GD is ousted from power.
“After October 26, when Georgian Dream is inevitably defeated, we will begin active negotiations with the European Union. Georgia will rapidly become part of the European family, bringing European education, healthcare, pensions, salaries, and overall well-being to our citizens.
This will undoubtedly happen, and very soon after October 26, every citizen will have an EU passport,” the UNM member said.
