Hezbollah leader vows ‘strong and effective’ response to Israeli actions

Lebanese paramilitary group Hezbollah’s leader, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, warned that Israel’s recent actions would not go unanswered, promising a “strong and effective” response.

The statement comes amid escalating tensions and fears of a large-scale military conflict in the region. Hezbollah is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States.

In a televised address on Tuesday, Nasrallah said, “Tehran must answer, and the enemy is in a state of great fear,” marking one week since the death of Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukri.

For months, Hezbollah and Israel have engaged in cross-border attacks between southern Lebanon and northern Israel, resulting in numerous casualties and displacing thousands of people. One such attack occurred on July 27, when rockets fired from Lebanon killed 12 people, including children, in the Golan Heights.

Tensions intensified further following the killing of senior Hezbollah military commander Fouad Shukri on the outskirts of Beirut and Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Hamas is also designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.
