Georgian authorities have arrested a Turkish national wanted by Interpol for multiple serious crimes, the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Friday.
The suspect, identified as T.E., was detained by officers from the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime under the Central Criminal Police Department. Born in 1990, he is wanted in Turkey on charges including murder, attempted murder, robbery, illegal arms trafficking, and membership in an organized criminal group.
T.E. entered Georgia before an international warrant was issued against him. Following intensive investigative measures, law enforcement officers were able to determine his whereabouts and carry out his arrest, the MIA said.
No further details have been provided regarding his extradition or legal proceedings.
