Today, NATO is not actively discussing expansion due to specific reasons, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Khashuri, Central Georgia, on Monday.
According to Kobakhidze, NATO’s current stance on expansion was influenced by the regional situation.
“NATO does not have the task of expansion today, based on the situation in the region. NATO cannot actively talk about expansion regarding Ukraine or Georgia. When the regional situation changes and calms down, the general conditions may also change, but today NATO is not engaging in active discussions about expansion, which has specific reasons,” said Kobakhidze.
