Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Honorary Chairman of the Georgian Dream ruling party, has congratulated His Holiness Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, on the 47th anniversary of his enthronement.
“With great respect and love, I congratulate the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, on the 47th anniversary of his enthronement,” Ivanishvili said in his message.
He highlighted that this day marks a historic moment for the Georgian Orthodox Church, noting that 47 years ago, a new era began in its history.
“As the years pass, it becomes even more evident that a new chapter in the Georgian Orthodox Apostolic Church started with our Holiness at the helm,” Ivanishvili continued. “With his wisdom, deep moral teachings, and love for the people, he remains unwavering in defending the strength and devotion to values that bind us, his spiritual children. I wish him many more years leading the Church for the benefit of our homeland and people.”
