Mikheil Kavelashvili, elected as the president of Georgia by a disputed parliament last year, has congratulated Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko on securing his seventh term as president.
Kavelashvili’s message of congratulations was published by Lukashenko’s administration, highlighting his support for the authoritarian leader. Lukashenko, who has ruled Belarus since 1994, has faced widespread accusations of electoral fraud and political repression, with Western countries refusing to recognize the legitimacy of his rule.
