Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party and leader of the parliamentary majority, dismissed speculations about the suspension of visa liberalization with the European Union, calling it “impossible.”
“There’s no precedent, and even if there were, no legal basis exists. Therefore, the suspension of visa liberalization is ruled out,” Mdinaradze stated. He criticized opposition efforts to raise the issue, accusing them of “manipulating” the topic to create unrest.
Mdinaradze further claimed that opposition figures, whom he labeled as “agents of the United National Movement,” are trying to provoke discussions about the suspension to destabilize the country before the inauguration of the next US president.
He emphasized that none of the four legal grounds for such a suspension apply to Georgia, asserting that such claims are baseless and aimed at escalating tensions.
