More Voice for Europe movement expresses concerns over fairness in upcoming parliamentary vote

Londa Toloraia, a representative of the monitoring coalition My Voice for Europe, on Friday voiced concerns regarding the fairness of the pre-election environment ahead of the Saturday’s parliamentary elections. She criticized state agencies for exhibiting “biased behaviors favoring the ruling party” and claimed that law enforcement “has largely failed to address election violations”.

Toloraia claimed the “subordination of all state bodies to the ruling party” had “negatively impacted” the electoral process, with court decisions “frequently siding” with the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the ruling party.

She also highlighted alleged incidents of voter manipulation, including threats, intimidation, and illegal use of personal data.

Despite acknowledging some positive efforts by the CEC in voter information and the registration of observation organizations, she criticized the lack of “adequate constituencies for expatriates” and expressed concern about the overall fairness of the electoral process.
