Giorgi Rurua, co-founder of Mtavari Arkhi, was questioned before a magistrate judge on Wednesday as a witness in an ongoing investigation related to alleged attempts to overthrow the government.
Following his testimony, Rurua expressed frustration, describing the process as a “staged circus” orchestrated by authorities with “no substance whatsoever.”
Rurua stated that he was not asked any questions related to terrorism or conspiracy, which had been initially suggested as investigation angles.
“This interrogation had no content. I signed a non-disclosure agreement, so I can’t share details, but I can confirm there were no questions about terrorism. It felt as meaningful as fortune-telling with coffee grounds,” Rurua commented.
Rurua was summoned by the State Security Service amid an ongoing investigation into alleged plans for a coup.
