Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to social media to comment on the evolving situation in Syria, describing the collapse of the Assad regime as both a historic opportunity and a potential source of danger.
“This is a historic day for the Middle East,” Netanyahu wrote. “The collapse of the Assad regime, the tyranny in Damascus, offers great opportunity but also is fraught with significant dangers.”
Netanyahu extended a message of peace to the diverse communities in Syria, including Druze, Kurds, Christians, and Muslims who seek to coexist peacefully with Israel.
“We send a hand of peace to all those beyond our border in Syria,” Netanyahu declared, signaling Israel’s willingness to engage with those who share the vision of a peaceful and stable region.
