Georgia sends fresh water as a humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

The Georgian government has sent fresh water to Afghanistan as a humanitarian aid for the individuals at Kabul airport, who are trying to flee the country after the city’s capture by the Taliban on August 15.

The Georgian airport is also being used in the evacuation process of civilians from the war-torn country.

The NATO allied forces are scheduled to complete the evacuation process from Kabul tomorrow, while the UK suspended evacuations last week, shortly after the attack of IS’s Afghan branch to the Kabul airport which claimed at least 100 lives, including the US soldiers.

The NATO and the US troops, including 870 Georgian soldiers. left Afghanistan after almost a 18-year-presence on the heels of the US-Taliban peace deal back in 2020.
