Tbilisi to meet New Year with large-scale events

A main fir tree in central Tbilisi, in front of the parliament building, will light up at 20:00 tomorrow, while a Christmas village will open on December 24, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated earlier today. 


The Christamas village will host visitors on Orbeliani Square and Dedaena garden including January 14. 


Concerts will be held on December 31 and January 7 in central Tbilisi, on the Republic Square, with the involvement of 300 participants. 


Kaladze stated that thousands of people will be employed in the New Year events and preparations which will help the individuals during the coronavirus pandemic. 


He called on citizens to act in line with coronavirus guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus. 


Kaladze encouraged Georgians to get the coronavirus vaccine shot and wear facemasks.
