Tbilisi: presenting Georgia’s flag for 3 + 3 format in Moscow unacceptable

The Georgian Foreign Ministry says that presenting the Georgian flag during a regional meeting on December 10 in Moscow in the so-called 3+3 format proposed by Turkey and Iran in 2020, is ‘unacceptable’ as Georgia refused to participate in the format.

Officials from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Iran and Turkey attended the meeting, while Tbilisi offered a separate format of cooperation to Azerbaijan and Armenia to ensure peace in the region.

"Georgia has stated several times that we will not participate in the so-called 3+3 format. At the meeting held in Moscow on December 10, the Georgian flag was presented which is naturally unacceptable for us and we had to respond to it through the relevant diplomatic channels,” said the ministry.

Russia occupies 20 percent of the Georgian territory and continues creeping occupation of Georgian lands since the Russia-Georgia 2008 war.
