Tbilisi raises issues of ‘borderisation,’ illegal arrest of Georgian citizens at Ergneti meeting

The central Georgian government has raised the issue of illegal detention of Georgian citizens and making illegal borders by the Russian-controlled Tskhinvali government at today’s meeting in Ergneti.

Six Georgian citizens remain illegally arrested in the occupied region. Three of the six detainees were accused of drug trafficking along with ‘illegally crossing the border.’

Tbilisi is demanding an immediate release of the individuals and vows to continue fighting until the goal is reached.

Situation in the village of Chorchana, Khashuri municipality, where the occupation forces are engaged with making illegal barbed-wire-fences, has also been discussed.

The illegal detention of Georgian citizens and creeping occupation is a common practice by Tskhinvali de facto authorities.

Tbilisi says that Russia is fully responsible for the illegal actions as it is exercising effective control on the regions.
