Representatives of political parties and civic activists are protesting ‘cleansing on political grounds’ in the Culture Ministry as they say by current minister Tea Tsulukiani. 

They state that a number of employees in the ministry have been dismissed as they were disliked by the minister. 

Several of the individuals claim that they were fired as they had signed a petition demanding the dismissal of Tsulukiani. 

Tsulukiani had served as a minister of justice under the Georgian Dream leadership. 

She occupied the post for eight years. 

She appeared in parliament following the 2020 elections. However, Tsulukiani shortly quit her mandate as she was appointed as a minister of culture. 

The ruling party MPs have praised Tsulukiani for her professionalism and personal features, noting that the opposition is trying to harm her.
