No daily Covid statistics to be released in Georgia

Covid statistics will no longer be published daily in Georgia. Information will be provided to the media and the public once a week, every Tuesday, the Georgian Health Ministry says.

 

"The number of new cases, incidents, positive rates, deaths will be summarized weekly and will be published once a week, every Tuesday," the health ministry said in its recent statement.

 

Today, May 3, is the first day that daily statistics have not been released.

 

According to the latest data, since February 26, 2020, when the first case of coronavirus infection was confirmed in Georgia, 1,655,221 cases have been registered by testing. 

 

The virus has claimed 16,811 lives in Georgia. 

 

Wearing of face masks are mandatory only in transport and medical facilities. All other restrictions have been lifted.
