The obligation of wearing facemasks in the Georgian municipal transport will be lifted starting June 20, the Georgian government said on Thursday, citing the “stabilized situation” in terms of coronavirus in Georgia.

The weekly cases of coronavirus stand at around 500 in the country, with a few cases of death.

The Georgian health authorities stated today that the vaccination process against coronavirus, as well as campaigns to encourage the process, will not be stopped as the pandemic is not still over.

Georgia maintained the obligation of wearing facemasks only in medical facilities.
