Georgian MPs initiate military museum with estimated construction costs at ₾24mln

The Georgian Dream ruling party MPs and opposition legislator Aleksandre Elisashvili have initiated the construction of a military museum in the country, with estimated  construction costs reaching 24 million GEL.

 

The authors of the bill,  Vladimir Chachibaia, Irakli Beraia, Eliso Bolkvadze, Aleksandre Tabatadze, Giorgi Khelashvili, Resan Kontselidze and Aleksandre Elisashvili, said that the museum could be completed by 2028 and funds for its construction could be allocated from the state budget for four years gradually, starting 2022.

 

The museum was expected to house materials depicting the historical and technical development of the Georgian Defense Forces and the country's military past, samples of military equipment and other materials.

 

After the completion of the construction, the necessary expenses for the maintenance of the museum could probably amount to  782,500 GEL per year, while the estimated number of employed persons could be 27, receiving 384,000 GEL in salaries annually.
