Zelensky announces “the end” of peace talks if Russia tries Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky said Monday that Kyiv will “shut doors for any peace with Russia” if the latter tries Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol in the coming days.

In his video address, Zelensky described the trial as “absurd and disgusting” and warned Moscow of possible consequences. According to reports, Russia is going to judge Ukrainian  war captives in Mariupol on August 24, the day of Ukraine's independence.

The occupiers have already placed prison cells on the stage of the Mariupol concert hall.

Prior to this, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the Ukrainian regiment Azov as a so-called terrorist organization.
