Georgia receives $2.1 billions in income from tourism in seven months

Between January and August Georgia has received $2.1 billion in incomes from tourism, the Georgian Economy Ministry said on Friday.

The ministry stated that travel revenue in August surpassed the figure of 2019 for the second time and set a record with $522,945,221, noting that compared to the same month in 2021, travel revenues had increased by $324,158,964 (+163.1%) million.

"It is good that the tourism industry continues to develop and recover with positive dynamics. Not only did we fully recover the same rate as 2019, but we improved it to about 30 percent”, deputy economy minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said.
