The Georgian Revenue Service said on Monday that customs procedures for trucks leaving the Larsi checkpoint in North Georgia to Russia were partly delayed in the Russia-administered area. 

The agency stressed that customs checkpoints across the country were working “non-stop” amid the “increased transport cargo flow” on the backdrop of Russia’s war in Ukraine, with new employees added to all checkpoints. 

“In order to ensure the continuity of increased international cargo turnover, within the framework of the joint management of customs checkpoints, the Revenue Service is in intensive communication with the respective customs administrations of the neighboring countries - Turkey, Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, in order to quickly find alternative customs checkpoints for transport cargoes to reach their destinations in a timely fashion”.
