People fighting Ivanishvili are against peace, stability in Georgia - ruling party head

Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party on Thursday said that the people who were fighting with the party founder and the former prime minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, dubbed an “informal ruler” of the country by the opposition, were against peace and stability in Georgia.

“They are still in shock and continue to fight with a person who is not in politics at all, it is incredible. In fact, they fight the factor. Bidzina Ivanishvili is a factor that determines calmness, stability and peace in our country”, Kobakhidze said in response to opposition determination of the deoligarchisation bill to include Ivanishvili.

The parliament passed the bill with its first reading on Thursday, which defines criteria for identifying an individual as an oligarch.
