Opposition making blocs won’t lead to their win - political analyst Khukhashvili

Making various blocs ahead of the 2024 parliamentary elections will not lead to the opposition’s win, as the problem lies in the voters’ distrust towards them, Gia Khukhashvili, a political analyst told Front News on Tuesday in comments to the calls by three opposition parties to act together to “change the authorities” and recent polls by IRI.

“If the Georgian opposition fails to regain the public trust, they will be doomed to failure, no matter how many blocs they will form”, said the analyst, and noted that the opposition “continues to ignore the main problem”.

According to recent IRI's polls, if parliamentary elections were held on Sunday, 25 percent would vote for the ruling Georgian Dream and 12 percent  for the United National Movement opposition party.

The results for other opposition groups were as follows:

For Georgia - 3 percent, Girchi - more freedom- Zurab Girchi Japaridze - 3 percent, Strategy Agmashenebeli - Giorgi Vashadze - 2 percentDroa - Elena Khoshtaria - 2 percent.
