Gov’t to fund post-stroke, head-spinal injury rehabilitation

The Minister of Health of Georgia Zurab Azarashvili on Wednesday said that the government would fund post-stroke and head and spinal injury rehabilitation, as part of the state-funded general healthcare programme.

He said that the budget would allocate 11 million GEL for the purpose this year.

"At the recent meeting of the government, we have made an important decision. The post-stroke and post-traumatic rehabilitation program will be launched as part of the general healthcare program”, he said.

“It is also important to note that we are working on prevention of post-stroke rehabilitation. The emergency brigade will respond to the case of a stroke as quickly as possible and will take patients to a specific clinic, where they will be helped promptly," said the official.
