Georgian, Moldovan FMs meet, highlight common, EU integration goals

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday visited Moldova, holding a meeting with his counterpart Nicu Popescu în Chișinău. 

During his first official visit to the country, Darchiashvili said Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova were united in “common, European integration goals”, and said the bloc’s decision in June to grant the trio pathways to membership was “historic”. 

Discussing bilateral cooperation and “friendly ties”, the officials agreed to further strengthen cooperation to advance on their ways to the bloc’s membership. 

At a joint press conference, Darchiashvili expressed his support for Ukraine and its territorial integrity amid ongoing Russian aggression. 

The officials also noted the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the countries.
