MEP Juknevičienė reacts to death of acclaimed Georgian singer, “man with big heart, conscience”

MEP Rasa Juknevičienė on Monday reacted to the death of acclaimed Georgian singer and actor Vakhtang (Buba) Kikabidze, describing him as a “person with a big heart and conscience”.

Saying in her social media post that “my years are my wealth”, the politician noted her generation was well-aware of Kikabidze during Soviet times, adding they did not know at that time that he had represented Georgia as a separate country.

“Kikabidze was strongly opposing to Bidzina Ivanishvili [the flounder of the ruling Georgian Dream party and the former PM], who is scaring his nation that imposing sanctions on Russia will lead to war, that the European Union wants to drag Georgia in the [Russia-Ukraine] conflict”, said the MEP.

Kikabidze died on Sunday aged 84. He will be buried in Tbilisi on Thursday.
