Two Georgians killed, other missing found in Turkey quake - ambassador

Giorgi Janjgava, the Georgian ambassador to Turkey, on Tuesday said two Georgian citizens had been killed and others missing found alive in the devastating earthquake hitting Turkey and Syria on Monday. 

He called on Georgian citizens in the disaster zone to call the  hotlines, or visit the country’s diplomatic missions in Ankara, Istanbul or Trabzon to receive aid. 

The Georgian Embassy in Ankara offers two hotlines: +905336903040 and +905392208280, while the General Consulate in Istanbul is receiving  calls through the number +905418184400 and the General Consulate in Trabzon on +905413262226.

In the latest developments, more than 4,300 have been killed in Turkey and Syria following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. 

Turkey’s head of disaster services, Yunus Sezer, on Tuesday said at least 2,921 people were killed and more than 15,800 others injured. In neighboring Syria, at least 1,451 people have died.
