Decisions on weapon transfer made to Ukraine - EU Council chair

The European Union invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to a summit in Brussels in a bid to take concrete decisions on the transfer of weapons, they have already been taken, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said at a briefing together with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday.

“We will continue to send aid," said Michel.

For his part, Zelenskyy noted that he  had no right to return from a trip abroad without some positive result for Ukraine.

"It is important for me that all negotiations end with results. This is not cynicism on my part, this is pragmatism. And believe me, there are no more feelings. We left them a year ago. No feelings, just pragmatism. We need these weapons to survive," he said.
