World on verge of WWIII - PM Garibashvili

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday said the world was on the verge of World War III and his “main concern” was to maintain “peace, stability and save the country” in the situation.

The comment came following the journalist’s question over the latest ruling of the International Criminal Court that issued an arrest warrant for Russian president Vladimir Putin for abducting Ukrainian children during his country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

In response, Garibashvili said the Government members had already reacted to the ruling and added the situation was becoming “more and more complicated on a daily basis”, with the threats of WWIII had not been “exaggerated”.

“In this situation, my main concern and the order of the Georgian people is to maintain peace, stability and save the country”, the PM said, after congratulating ethnic Azerbaijanis on Nowruz holiday in the country’s southern Marneuli municipality.
