Georgian ruling party head meets EU ambassador

Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday met with Pawel Herczynski, the European Union ambassador to Georgia, in the party’s Tbilisi office.

The discussion involved the country’s European integration process and the implementation of the 12-point conditions outlined by the bloc last year to grant Georgia its membership candidate status, the party press office said.

The European Commission is scheduled to present an interim report on Georgia’s alignment with the EU framework in Spring, while the body will issue its recommendations to the European Council whether to grant the status to the country in October.
