Zelenskyy attends European Political Community Summit in Moldova

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday arrived in Moldova to attend the second European Political Community Summit în Chișinău, which has brought together 50 European political leaders to discuss energy and security on the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Kyiv. 

 

"Today we are working in Moldova. We are participating in the summit of the European Political Community. There will be many bilateral meetings. We are developing a coalition of fighters. The European Union, NATO, the peace formula. Let's protect our future," Zelenskyy wrote.

 

European Council President Charles Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will also feature at the summit.

 

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday departed with his delegation to attend the event, take part in panel discussions and also hold bilateral meetings, the government administration announced. 

 

The security of the summit in Moldova will be provided by the American and British military. International air defense exercises are being held in Moldova between May 25 to June 2. More than 200 Moldovan, French, British, Romanian and American servicemembers will take part in it.
