Khatia Dekanoidze, a former member of the United National Movement opposition party, on Monday claimed the currently imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili’s “factor” still remained in domestic politics.
“Saakashvili's factor has not gone anywhere from Georgian politics and it will always be active”, Dekanoidze said in response to the claims by Sophio Japaridze, an UNM member, who on Monday said she launched an election campaign on behalf of the former President.
"Mikheil Saakashvili is a former President and he is a person who has a lot of supporters. It is very important that his factor will always be there. As for a separate campaign, I don't know about it. I have no information”, Dekanoidze told the press.
Dekanoidze quit as the head of the UNM faction in the Parliament earlier this year due to controversies inside the party.
