President “sabotaging” state - PM

PM Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday accused President Salome Zourabichvili of “sabotaging” the country through her claims that the country “did not deserve” the EU candidacy and allegations to the current authorities of their “uncrear” foreign policies.

The PM claimed he had rejected the President’s foreign trips to prevent her “anti-state” claims, and stressed ongoing impeachment procedures against her, initiated by the ruling power for unauthorized foreign trips, was “legitimate” and “not related” to the country’s EU status.

Garibashvili also said France raised questions about Georgia’s candidacy last year following the meeting between French and Georgian Presidents, shortly after the EU rejected Georgia’s EUcandidate status, adding the French-born Zourabichvili had “failed” to assure the French authorities to back Tbilisi’s status.
