The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office on Friday charged a truck driver after killing a 15-year-old in central Tbilisi earlier this week as his vehicle rolled down when trying to go uphill.
The suspect has been charged with violation of the safety or operation of a vehicle causing death, and is facing four to seven years in prison if found guilty by the court.
The victim died on the spot as a result of sustained injuries, the body said.
Locals claimed loaded trucks frequently appeared at the site, with residential buildings, schools and kindergartens nearby.
