Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met Arayik Harutyunyan, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia, on Tuesday in Tbilisi and reiterated his office was interested in “lasting” peace in the South Caucasus region as a peace mediator between Baku and Yerevan. 

The meeting noted that a high-level dialogue on strategic matters would benefit not only Georgia and Armenia, but the entire region, the Government press office said. 

While referring to the need of supporting peace and stability in the region, Garibashvili highlighted that Georgia “stands ready to support any constructive process aimed at the recovery of peace and stability in the region”. 

Meeting held within the Government Administration was focused on the “friendly and kind neighborly” relations between the two countries, the press office added.
