Zurab Azarashvili, the Georgian Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia, on Friday announced his resignation after a meeting with newly appointed Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

It was deemed necessary due to concerns within the medical community regarding communication issues, as evidenced by observations at the Republican Hospital, Kobakhidze told the press.

He expressed dissatisfaction with management and communication under Azarashvili's leadership during their morning meeting.

Subsequently, it was mutually agreed that Azarashvili would step down from his position, he added.

The Prime Minister intends to announce the appointment of a new Minister of Health in the coming days.
