The ruling Georgian Dream party Secretary General, Tbilisi Mayor, Kakha Kaladze on Wednesday slammed the part of the country’s domestic opposition as “traitors” and said that the Georgian authorities had no plans to impose sanctions on Russia or open a second front in the country on the background of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Anti-state approaches, statements, we have to hear exactly from the opposition, what we hear on a daily basis, their attitude, their agenda is anti-state.

“They are against all success, progress. Despite this, today our country has a government composed of patriots. We will act as our country needs it, just as our people need it. Today, more than ever, it is important to maintain peace, tranquility and promote economic development. So, Georgia will not get involved in sanctions or participate in the war, a second front will not open in Georgia”, Kaladze said.

The official noted that “we should ask the people whether they want a second front in Georgia or not.”
