Taxi driver arrested demanding 500 GEL from foreign passengers

Law enforcers have arrested a Georgian taxi driver who took two foreign nationals to unknown directions following a dispute over the service fee, demanding 500 GEL from them in exchange for “release.”

 

A man born in 1993 has been arrested on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty.

 

The crime is punishable by 7-15 years in prison.
