Nika Melia, a leader of the Coalition for Change, has criticized what he calls the regime’s attempt to create a virtual reality where domestic and international government support seems to exist.
In a social media post, Melia wrote:
“The regime is busy creating a virtual reality, pretending there is some form of support or minimal legitimacy for them within the country or abroad.
In response to the healthy protest of businesses, they present so-called ‘satisfied’ businessmen who supposedly do not feel the crisis, its scale, or the urgent need to address the problem.”
Melia further argued that anyone who fails to recognize the current crisis or its urgency is either incapable of grasping the reality of ongoing processes or is being coerced into playing the role of a “satisfied fool.”
“Whether you’re forced to play along or, even worse, you’re trading personal dignity and the country’s future for tenders—whether for millions or for pennies—it doesn’t matter. You remain a character straight out of Chabua Amirejibi’s novels,” Melia concluded.
