The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office on Monday officially recognized Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia – For Georgia opposition party and former prime minister, as a victim in connection with the assault he faced earlier this month.
The party told the press this designation grants Gakharia’s legal team access to the case materials, enabling a deeper understanding of the investigation’s progress.
The incident occurred on January 15 at the Sheraton Hotel in Batumi, where Gakharia was reportedly attacked.
The party claims the ruling Georgian Dream party members attacked its leader.
